Walking Dead: Recap and Review Season 6, Episode 3 "Thank You"

Spoiler Alert!!!  Proceed at your own risk.....

Last week we watched and sympathized as Alexandria was completely torn apart by the wolves, and at the very end having hundreds of zombies headed strait for their safe camp.  This week, after all that turmoil things didn't calm down much, they only got more devastating.  We could have possibly lost one of our favorite characters and all the tragedy in Alexandria as well as the group trying to control the herd gets worse than we might have expected.  This week we see the cast of The Walking Dead change and see the devastation throughout the show.  Every week this show continues to amaze me, and The Walking Dead gets more and more compelling every week.

Recap

This week started off with Rick and the rest of the group running as fast as they can and trying to figure out a game plan.  Rick tells Daryl to keep steering the zombies behind him the other direction.
Daryl wanted to go and help Rick and not worry about the ones behind him.  Rick decided to split up from the rest of the group to try and get in the camper to route the zombies that were headed towards Alexandria in the other direction.  It was obvious that the people from Alexandria could not keep up with Rick and his group, so Rick told Michonne and Glenn to leave them if needed.  Before the group split there was an encounter with a small group of zombies and one of the guys got bit that was bad mouthing Rick, and Rick killed him before he turned after getting his throat ripped out.  Then one of the people from Alexandria shot one of the other members in the group and ran off.  David then got bit in the back of the neck after Rick took off.  He said that they should keep moving and no one killed him, he had a small bite but it was obvious he would turn eventually.   After the group split a few of the people from Alexandria are injured so Glenn and Michonne were leading this group back to Alexandria.  Glenn was desperate to split up with the group to go check on Maggie and make sure that she was safe.  Daryl then decided he wasn't going to listen to Rick and he took off to go help him.  Luckily Sasha and Abraham were still leading the zombies too.  Glenn and Michonne then decided that they should blow up a building to distract some walkers then Glenn would go home to Maggie.  Rick had come across some walkers on his way to the camper, and it appeared that Rick had stabbed a zombie then cut himself with a dirty blade.  Could this be the part where Rick loses his hand just like the comics?  Rick then got to the camper and drives it away. And we get a glance of  Glenn and Nicholas as tragedy is about to strike. Glenn and Nicholas had to run from a bunch of walkers and ran from a huge herd of zombies, they try to start shooting them but there are just too many.  They climbed up on the dumpster and then Nicholas was getting more panic attacks as he has been the last few episodes.  Glenn could see that he was about to do something stupid and then told Nicholas to stop, and then Nicholas said "thank you" to Glenn and shot himself in the head and then fell right on top of Glenn knocking both of them into the crowd of zombies.  Then we see someone getting eaten and Glenn screaming over and over again.  Many thought Glenn got killed in this episode and many think that they made it look like it was him getting eaten, when it was really Nicholas.  Throughout the episode Michonne reassures David that he will make it home to his wife after getting bitten.  While they are running from some zombies he gets eaten, and you can see how it affects Michonne and how she felt badly about him not at least getting to see his wife again.  We then go back to Rick and he parks the camper, and tried to radio everyone in the group including Glenn.  The only people he could reach was Sasha and Daryl.  Then while Rick is sitting in the camper some wolves bust in the camper and try to shoot him. Rick was able to take the two wolves out that were inside the camper.  And then Rick found a bottle of baby food in the wolves coat.  Rick then notices that there are a few more wolves outside the camper and Rick shot them through the camper and successfully killed them all.  At this moment we can see the defeat and shock that Rick is in.  At the end we see hundreds of walkers headed right for the camper, but it appeared that some of them were walking right past the trailer headed right for Alexandria.

The Marvelous:  This weeks episode was amazing.  The characters and story line get stronger with each episode, which is one thing I love about this show. Each episode gets better and better as each season goes on which always automatically draws me into this show.  Every main character had a strong message to deliver to the story line in this weeks episode and all did an amazing job. We can only hope that there will be good news and that Glenn will make it through and get home to Alexandria to Maggie and the rest of the group.  I have a feeling if Glenn does make it through this that there will be a healing process mentally and that it will affect him either way.  Regardless I am looking forward to what the rest of this season brings to us.

The Ugly:  Well of course the bad this week would be Glenn either being Dead or possibly about to
be dead.  I don't really have too many complaints about this weeks episode.  I will say that if Glenn is dead, then that would be the one complaint I have.  He deserves a glorious death, not to be taken out on accident from someone who wanted to kill him at one point.  He has always been such a strong character that can handle his own, not to get killed by some accident. We always know that our favorite characters will be gone with this show, but its the story that takes them out is what matters.

                                                                                    Review and thoughts
I thought this episode was absolutely incredible.  I do not think that Glenn is dead, but I do think he is in a terrible spot and may not make it.  It was very obvious to me that the body that was getting eaten was not Glenn's and Nicholas'.  There is no way Glenn would have been able to pick his upper torso up with his intestines and every organ being ripped out of his body.  Not to mention that Glenn's intestines could not be in his chest where it would have appeared they were getting ripped out of. There are a lot of small details that this would indicate Glenn's body being eaten.  However, Glenn is in a tough spot so that is not saying that I am sure he will survive the position that he is in.  I love what an incredible job this whole cast did and especially Rick when they had just felt ultimate defeat and turmoil.  When Rick found the baby food jar on one of the wolves, you could see the pain on his face just shooting through his whole body.  Andrew Lincoln always does such an incredible job, and he was especially amazing in this scene.  I rate this episode a 10 out of 10.

After The Walking Dead every week I always love watching The Talking Dead, usually there are
some great guests on the show as well as some great details and behind the scenes information on the show.  This week, Scott Gimple released a very important statement on the show.  He stated ""Dear fans of The Walking Dead, this is a hard story to tell, and when we were planning to tell it, we knew our friends over at Talking Dead would be talking to you about it, and knowing you’d talking and feeling and commiserating, I knew we should say something about it, lest our silence say something we didn’t mean to say or not say so I will say this," Gimple wrote. "In some way, we will see Glenn, some version of Glenn or parts Glenn again, either in flashback, or current story, to help complete the story."  One of the things that made me pretty sure that Glenn isn't dead is the fact that when they do the goodbye's on Talking Dead for everyone that dies that week, Glenn was not on there.  If he was dead I would think he would be the first person on the list of goodbyes.  We will find out tonight, stay tuned for another amazing episode.  Let us know your thoughts on this episode and the rest of the season.  Here is the trailer for tonight's show.
