Denver Comic Con 2014: Guest Announcements #4

Ever since last year's Denver Comic Con ended we have been pumped for DCC 2014, and so many great guests have been revealed already and more incredible guests have been added to next years event. Three more guests have been added and we can't wait to see them as well as some additional amazing guests for Denver Comic Con 2014.  There have already been some amazing artists added to next years list and Denver Comic Con has announced some more amazing artists for next year.

Last year at Denver Comic Con we had the pleasure it getting to meet and talk with Dan Parent. Throughout the entire convention we were able to spend about an hour with him, and I can say that he is one of the kindest and most inspirational artists to this date.  Last year he held two panels, one Saturday and one Sunday.  We attended both panels and learned so much from one of the most influential people in comic book history.  One thing we loved about his panels from last year is the kids loved his panels too.  Even though some of it wasn't children related the kids thoroughly enjoyed his panels and we can't see what panels Dan has is store for us next year.  If you don't know why Dan Parent was such a legend its because he brought things into the comic book World that no one else had the guts to do. He brought interracial relationships and also same sex relationships at a time where neither one of these things was accepted.  We have so much respect for Dan Parent just for this reason.  Kevin Keller was the first gay character in any comic book, and Dan Parent made fans from all over fall in love with this character in Archie comics.  Archie hasn't been something we have read a lot since kids, but we will always have so much respect for Dan Parents. When the first Kevin Keller Archie issue released it completely sold out within a day. Dan is a legend in our eyes and we can't wait to see him along with many other amazing guests at Denver Comic Con 2014.

Let's not forget how great the Golden Age of comics were.  And Denver Comic Con is bringing an amazing artist from the golden age of comics for next year.  Allen Bellman was a legend in the golden age of comics and Denver Comic Con announced that he will be a guest for next year.  He is most known for his work on Captain America in 1942, but he also has many other great titles.  His work includes, but is not limited to: All Winners Comics, Jet Dixon of the Space Squadron, The Destroyer, The Human Torch, The Patriot, Marvel Mystery, Sub Mariner Comics, and Young Allies.  Bellman is an excellent artist and we can't wait to see him at Denver Comic Con next year.

Denver Comic Con not only holds one of the best cons in the nation, but there are also some great benefits
when you attend.  The main benefit in going to Denver Comic Con is the proceeds go to Comic Book Classroom, a literacy program for kids.  Not only will you be attending one of the best cons in the nation, but you will also be contributing to what matters the most, our kids and future kids.  Comic Book Classroom has excellent panels and activities throughout the con, and we felt like all 4 of our tickets were easily paid for in the activities the kids participated in.  If you have kids, not only will they have a great time seeing some of their favorite celebrities, but they also get the enjoyment of participating in so many kids activities.  There are even several panels for the kiddos on how to make their own comics, and they also will get the fun joy in making comics of their own.  Even if you don't have kids, you have the excitement of attending one of the best cons in the nation and also getting the joy of contributing to little ones while you are doing it.  Comic Book Classroom arranges excellent after school programs at various schools across the state to help kids learn how to read, write, and write their own comics.  For more information on Comic Book Classroom please be sure to visit their website and Facebook page.  They also have excellent pamphlets you can print from DCC's website.  Please come and join us for all the excitement at Denver Comic Con next year and contribute to children just by attending.  Stay tuned for more guest announcements this year, and please make sure you subscribe to Denver Comic Con's newsletter.
